Lightest and warm – The lightweight connoisseurs choice

The Synmat UL 7 S has a heat resistance value of 3.1. With a higher weight a standard 2.5 cm self inflating mat only offers a R-value of 2.5. EMPA tests demonstrated that regular mats lose 3x more heat to cold ground than to the air. The conclusion is that a warmer mat is more important than a warmer sleeping bag.

The Ultralight SynMats do not reach the insulating properties of Expeds DownMats but offer the same comfort, extremely  low weight and very compact packed size. They come at a lower price point as synthetic fiber is cheaper in cost than the goose down found in their DownMats. The weight to warmth ratio is far superior to standard foam filled sleeping mats.

Exped Flatvalve Technology: Seperate inflation and deflation valves, non-protruding and more durable than traditional valves. The deflation valve features a one-way flap for rapid deflation. Inflation by mouth only takes 1 to 1.5 minutes.

Warm insulation: 60 g/qm Texped - loft microfiber provides outstanding insulation and is laminated to the upper and lower sides of the mat. This ensures durable loft and insulation for the life of the mat.
